New Digital Projector

As a photographer I am always looking the best projection of my images. Over the last few years the improvement in digital projection has improved immensely. However, so has the price! I was schedule to give a talk at Marwell Camera Club using their facilities, but a few days before I was to give the talk, their digital projector failed. As I did not own my own projector, I tried to borrow/hire a suitable model. Having had a few bad experiences with digital projectors showing washed out images, as no doubt some of you have seen, I was extremely concerned with the accurate colour projection of my images. Searching the Internet I came across a company called ‘AVpartsmaster’ and spoke to Andy Jennings in their sales department. Andy recommended the Optoma EP752 – 2800 DLP projector. At no cost, I was loaned the projector and tried it out at my Marwell evening. The results were outstanding, one of the best projectors I have seen. I have now purchased that model projector. New Gallery pictures taken in the Sciottish Highlands

I spent a few days in Scotland in october 2007. Based in Aviemore and with the assistance of local wildlife photograoher, Neil Macintyre, I captured a number of images of wildlife and landscapes.

New A5 Nature Series Cards

Michael has introduced a new range of cards featuring landscapes and wildlife recored in and around the UK. The cards are A5 (21x14.5 cm) size with the inside left blank for lots of writting. The cards come with an envelope and plastic sleeve. The cards are available with a number of different images. Full details can be found in the 'shop' section under 'A5 Cards'.

Petworth Fair Craft Show

Michael will be exhibiting again at the Petworth Craft Show on the 24th and 25th November 2007. The event is held at Petworth House one of the many properties managed by the National Trust. A new range of pictures, canvas prints and note cards will be on display with a wide selection of images and prices to suit all pockets.

Gold Medal

The Travel Group of The Royal Photographic Society runs a competition for travel images. This year, 2007, Michael has won the Gold Medal for his image of 'The Gardians'. For a full description of the image and the story of the 'Camargue Chase' see the Travel Log feature in this section.

Travel Log

Michael has written an article in the present edition of the Travel Log, the quartery magazine of the RPS Travel Group. The article is based upon a visit to the Camargue, Southern France,to see a festival known as 'Camargue Chase'. The event takes place in a small village and demonstrates the skill of the riders marshalling the bulls. The festival is a family affair and none of the bulls are hurt in any way. Judges Selection Award

At the recent Royal Photographic Nature Nature Group's competition, Michael has won the judges award for best print in that class. The picture is of a Male Lion from the Marsh Pride located in the Masai Mara, Kenya.
